United Therapeutics Corporation is a proud sponsor of FutureFest™ — where kids can spark their imagination and celebrate our collective power to invent the future! This free family festival, one of the DC region’s largest, has it all: Real fun. Real tools. Real skills for the future.
With its dual emphasis on sustainability and innovation, United Therapeutics uniquely reflects two important FutureFest™ themes. The multinational biotech company is headquartered in downtown Silver Spring in a “smart building” known as the Unisphere. Coming up on its first anniversary, this impressive structure was designed to renewably generate 100% of its own electrical and thermal energy, making it the largest NetZero commercial building in the country. Solar panels, daylight harvesting, natural ventilation, and a thermal pool are just a few of the sustainable strategies incorporated into the building design.
Within the Unisphere, the work of United Therapeutics revolves around innovation. The company is dedicated to addressing the unmet needs of patients with chronic and life-threatening illness, and its new facility focuses on the emerging, cutting-edge field of organ manufacturing.
United Therapeutics is pleased to support FutureFest as a nearby Silver Spring neighbor, and joins KID Museum in inspiring the next generation of creative and compassionate change-makers!
FutureFest™ presented by KID Museum in partnership with Montgomery County and Fund for Montgomery, takes place Sunday, September 15, 12-5pm at Veterans Plaza and the Silver Spring Civic Center — One Veterans Place, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Learn more at: kid-museum.org/futurefest
