KID was established over a decade ago to address the growing disconnect between K-12 education and the changing world of work.
Our theory of change is grounded in a simple belief:
How students learn matters as much as what they learn.
When young people engage in hands-on, project-based learning – when they design, build, test, revise, and reflect – they develop durable skills that carry into school, work, and life.
We call this the Mind of a Maker. These are the human-centered capabilities that experts now recognize as essential in an increasingly digital and automated world.
Over the more than a decade, KID has partnered with schools, districts, and educators — reaching more than 430,000 people — to test and refine our model in real-world conditions.
