Teen Programs

Learn advanced maker skills. Tackle real-world problems. Grow as a leader. From single-day intensive learning sessions to 12-week courses and volunteer opportunities, KID’s Teen Programs empower makers 14 and up to make a meaningful impact in their community.

KID Museum Teen Programs begin with rising 9th graders, ages 14 and older.

Short-Term Teen Intensives

Make time for making: these one- and four-day intensive programs are a great way to hone specific maker skills and meet a community of creative teens.

Access for Every Maker: We are dedicated to expanding access to all makers by providing free and reduced-cost ways to participate in our programming. Please use this form to reach out if you are an educator, a member of the military, or if program fees pose a financial hardship, and we’ll ensure you and your family can participate.

Spring Break Arduino Exploration

Dive into the world of Arduino! Learn how to program a microcontroller with blinking light patterns, spin servo motors to create motion, and read input from sensors that react to the world around you. Whether you’re new to electronics or ready to build something interactive, this camp is the perfect chance to discover the fun of bringing code and circuits together. You’ll wrap up the day by teaming up as a group to apply your newfound skills to a collaborative build.

Teen Innovators

Join a group of creative high school students interested in exploring various maker areas through hands-on, STEAM-based projects. Meet once a week to work in KID’s state-of-the-art studios while developing peer mentoring and leadership skills. Past projects have included building Bluetooth-enabled speakers, interactive cardboard sculptures, and drawstring bags.

Currently, registration for the spring program is closed, but we will be running another program in the fall.
