How do you make a banana play the piano? How do you “paint” with light? How do you use a circuit to power a fan? Just ask the families who came out to KID Museum this past weekend. They can tell you.
Whether it was banana piano playing, electronic sound machines, or computer programming, visitors had a whole lot to see and do (and touch and create) at KID Museum’s Davis Library site.
Children and families worked together to build a giant kite as part of our Guatemalan Day of the Dead Celebration. They learned about Day of the Dead traditions from Eugenia Alvarez, Cultural Attache from the Guatemalan Embassy, who brought along a traditional barrilete gigante. Kids also constructed beautiful mini-versions of the giant kites, and when it was time to go, ran out to test them in the perfectly windy day.
