Coding Jams at KIDfest

By September 11, 2018No Comments

Get ready to jam and program at KIDfest—our popular Coding Jams are back! These free and fun sessions are facilitated by KID Museum’s Coding Corps, which is made up of high schoolers that are formally trained in coding and teaching coding to kids of all ages.

Coding Jams at KIDfest – Silver Spring Civic Center
Sunday, September 23
12:30 – 2:15pm – 2nd through 4th graders
2:30 – 4:30pm – 5th through 8th graders

Drop-in at the scheduled times (no registration required) to create short animations, interactive stories, or simple video games using Scratch programming. All levels of experience are welcome, and family participation is encouraged!

And, don’t leave the little ones at home! For our youngest, budding programmers, check out Bot Pop in the KID Museum tent. Kids will be squealing with excitement as they get to program robots to pop balloons.

Come to KIDfest to discover the fun and creativity in coding, and find out all that KID Museum has to offer to keep the spark going. The future starts here!

KIDfest takes place from 12pm – 5pm on Sunday, September 23 at One Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring, MD. Learn more at kidfest.org.
