Visiting Artist: Yehimi Cambrón

Join KID Museum’s Visiting Artist Yehimi Cambrón as she unveils her artwork “Entre Nuestras Alas / Among Our Wings,” which uses monarch butterflies to symbolize joy, resilience, liberty of movement, and the collective power of community. This artwork will be created and installed in collaboration with youth from KID Museum’s Makers for Social Change summer camp.

Yehimi Cambrón is a DACAmented artist, activist, and public speaker born in Michoacán, México. She became undocumented at seven years old when she immigrated to Georgia, where she grew up on Buford Hwy — the multicultural heart of Atlanta.

Make your own monarch! At this pop-up activity in Maker Playground, visitors can decorate their own butterflies, leave a note or letter, and either bring them home or leave them at KID to be added to the butterfly swarm.
