At KID Museum we see artists as makers, creative problem solvers, and changemakers. The Visiting Artist Program invites artists to collaborate with our staff and community to create original artwork in our space and show how art is made. We seek to broaden the perception of art as a way to strengthen STEM skills, provide opportunities for storytelling, form cultural and community connections, create new pathways for identity exploration, and elevate creative expression.

Current & Upcoming Visiting Artists
Yehimi Cambrón
Experience a swarm of migrating butterflies overhead as a symbol of joy, resilience, reality, and necessity of the immigration experience. This artwork was created in collaboration with youth from KID Museum’s Makers for Social Change Summer Camp.
Jenna Frye
Artist, maker, and educator Jenna Frye explores art, design, and engineering to solve problems. Inspired by Truchet tiles, a system of tiles that form shapes and patterns when arranged in a grid, Jenna’s artwork invites you to express creativity, solve puzzles, and dive into math concepts in a hands-on, tactile way.
