Visiting Artist: Ellen Xu

Visiting Artist, Ellen Xu unveiled her new artwork created especially for KID Museum “What is That” on Sunday, April 16. As a complement to her art, the new activity “Popsicle Stick City” designed by KID, supports kids’ and families’ exploration of Xu’s materials and maker skills.

Her artwork and Popsicle Stick City will be available through Sunday, June 11.

Ellen Xu combines sculpture, drawing, and installation to create an immersive, dreamlike environment responding to the unique architectural features of space. Her work is influenced by Chinese folk art and she uses labor-intensive, repetitive methods to represent the history of Chinese working people and identity.
