It's time to celebrate!

Over the past year, middle school students from across the region have been creating solutions to the question: what will you make to improve life on this planet?

Through the process of designing their own inventions, students have learned to innovate, solve problems, and collaborate with others — all skills they’ll need to one day invent the future.

KID Museum, in partnership with Montgomery County Public Schools and The Universities at Shady Grove, is proud to present the Invent the Future Celebration – a day of activities, exhibitors, fun, and most importantly, a celebration of what innovations MCPS middle school students have created to improve life on our planet.

We invite everyone to join us at this free, community event to discover how the next generation is inventing the future.

What would you make to improve life on this planet? Well, that’s exactly what we asked middle school students and they didn’t disappoint. Through the engineering design process they invented fire fighting drones, ocean water filtration systems, and so much more.

We’re bringing KID Museum to the party! Get hands-on with family activities from our flagship space at Bethesda Metro Center.

We need young people to follow their curiosity, to ask questions, and to pursue solutions that have the power to benefit us all.

What is the Invent the Future Program?

Invent the Future is one of the DC Metro region’s largest maker challenges integrating science, technology, engineering, and design.

Through the process of designing their own inventions, students learn to innovate, solve problems, gain confidence, engender compassion, and work with others — all skills for future success.
