Vision for KID Museum’s Future Home

A world-class museum and learning center that inspires creativity and innovation.

A permanent home has been a part of our vision since we first opened our prototype space in Davis Library in 2014. We’re serving 55,000 people from across the DC region each year with an ever-increasing demand. We estimate serving 300,000 people a year at a new site, with a continued emphasis on providing high-quality, transformative programming that reaches children from across the socio-economic spectrum.

A future home will:

Attract 300,000 visitors per year from the DC metro area and beyond.

Build community identity, activate spending in the local economy, and foster future workforce development for the area.

Serve as a national model for 21st century learning, positioning the region as a leader in innovative education.

Provide a dynamic hub for children, families and educators, working in partnership with the MCPS school district.
