School’s Out, KID’s Open

No school Monday, November 2! So let’s spend the day inventing, building, and having a great time at KID Museum. Your kids will have so much fun, they won’t even realize that their brains are hard at work.  Ages 7 – 14.  Kids will be grouped by age. Register for the morning or afternoon session (with optional lunch add-on and Science of Music program) or for the full day.

Morning Session (9:00 – 12:00): REGISTER
Cardboard Construction with Motors:
Build a cardboard creation that moves, dances, or spins with the addition of a motor.
3D Design & Print:
Design and print a simple object using our 3D printers. Learn the basics of 3D design using Tinkercad.
Design & Build a Percussion Instrument: Create an original instrument using found materials and electronics, and explore the properties of sound.
You may add the optional lunch time and performance during the registration process.

Afternoon Session (2:00 – 5:00): REGISTER
Pachinko: Build a pachinko board, a Japanese form of pinball, by hammering in nails, stringing alleyways, and adding obstacles. Then play the game, sending marbles down your board.
Makey Makey: Use everyday items to build musical touchpads and program them with Scratch.
Percusssion Acoustics & Jam Session: Construct your own sounds with percussion instruments, explore playing techniques and how to layer sound.
You may add the optional lunch time and performance during the registration process.

Full Day (9:00 – 5:00): REGISTER
Morning and afternoon sessions, plus lunch, fun & games and Science of Music Program.

Half Day: 9:00 – 12:00 or 2:00 – 5:00. $35 members; $40 non-members.
Add $10 for lunch, fun and games (12:00 – 1:00) and a free Science of Music program by Kids Euro Festival (1:00 – 2:00).
Full Day: 9:00 – 5:00. $80 members; $90 non-members (includes lunch, fun & games, and Science of Music program).

The Kids Euro Festival Science of Music program is free and open to everyone. You may add on this performance and/or lunch to a half-day morning or afternoon session.
