Project ARMath: Augmented Reality for Life-Relevant Math Learning (10:30am)

August 11 @ 10:30 am - 11:45 am

As part of an on-going research project, researchers at the University of Maryland will introduce a new technology for children’s STEM learning. The technology, a mobile app ARMath, is designed to help children discover and solve math problems in everyday life like identifying rectangular objects or performing addition.

ARMath uses cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies to automatically recognize the surrounding environment and create virtual math problems within it. In this workshop, children will experience a new type of STEM learning and have the opportunity to practice their math skills in an engaging way.

As part of UMD research, parents will need to sign consent forms.
