Green Design Day

April 13, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Get an early start on Earth Day with a full day of activities dedicated to the environment! Build wind-powered cars, design robot recyclers, and take the “living building challenge.” Or sign up for a workshop to build a bird feeder, a vehicle that runs on solar power, or a Smart Planter that tells you when your plants are thirsty!

No registration required, drop in anytime between 10am – 5pm.

General: $12.00 (one child + two adults)

Available Workshops

10:30 AM | K-1st Grade | Woodshop: Bird Feeders
Learn to use woodshop tools like a drill and sandpaper to make your very own bird feeder that will bring pollinators to your yard or garden. REGISTER

12:30 PM | 2nd-4th Grade | Electronics: Solar Bots
Learn about sustainable energy as you design and build your own moving creation powered by the sun. Build a motor circuit that uses a solar panel as a power source, and use your engineering skills to create a one-of-a-kind Solar Bot! REGISTER

3 PM | 5th-7th Grade | Robotics & Coding: Smart Planter
Use a soil moisture sensor, a microcontroller, and a flower pot to create a Smart Planter that tells you when your plant is thirsty. Learn basic coding skills as you program your creation to alert you when your plant needs watering. REGISTER
