Family Coding Day

Discover the fun and creativity in coding! Family Coding Day features a variety of hands-on coding activities for all ages to enjoy. These “Open Explore” activities will include KIBO Robotics, Ozobots, LEGO WeDo, Micro:bit, and more.

General Admission:
General: $12.00 (one child + two adults)

Available Workshops

Pre K | Mini Makers: Robotics | 10:30am
What are robots? How do they work? Explore these questions and more through fun, hands-on activities using age appropriate robotics tools for 4-5 year olds. This is a family workshop; makers must be accompanied by an adult. REGISTER

Grades K-1 | Family Workshop: Ozobot City | 12:30pm
Families will develop a miniature city for an Ozobot, a tiny, line-following robot. Use craft materials to create buildings, parks, and roads for your robot to travel, and use code to make sure it gets where it’s going. REGISTER

Grades 2-4 | Family Workshop: Robotic Carnival | 2:30pm
Work together to use LEGO Robotics and a variety of other materials to build your carnival ride! Program motors, lights, and sensors to make your creation come to life! Cost covers the workshop for the entire family and general admission for one child. REGISTER

Grades 5 – 7 | Robotics & Coding: MakeCode Arcade | 3:00pm
Learn to use Microsoft’s MakeCode Arcade, where you can build retro-style mini games of different kinds! Plan and design your mini game, then program it using programming blocks. More experienced programmers can build and edit their code in JavaScript. REGISTER
