Spring Break Daily Camps

2nd ‐ 4th & 5th ‐ 7th Grade

Each day is a complete camp with its own theme or specialty, where kids can create, collaborate, and build amazing things.

Attend one day or attend them all.

9:00 – 4:00
Price: $75 members; $85 nonmembers

Please bring a bagged lunch (KID Museum is a nut-free facility).

Monday, April 10

Willy Wonka (2nd – 4th Grade)

Invent in the spirit of one of the wackiest inventors ever created! Create chocolate molds, develop new flavors of gum, and create your own “bad egg” detector while learning basic woodshop and electronics skills.
Max 15 participants.

KID City (5th – 7th Graders)

Get a taste of civil engineering and city planning as a designer of buildings and bridges. Your problem solving skills will be put to the test as you plan for an earthquake-proof building, a weight-bearing bridge, and tackle our city planning challenge.

Tuesday, April 11

Aeronautica (2nd – 4th Graders)

4, 3, 2, 1… lift off! Leave the ground behind in this camp that’s all about flying, launching, and falling. Build and launch different types of rockets that function in different ways, including hand pump rockets, bouncy ball rockets, and falling copters. Max 15 participants.

Maker Camp: Electronics & Fab Lab (5th – 7th Graders)

Explore our Electronics and Fab Lab Maker Studios. Master electronics tools and skills, then head into the Fab Lab and design your own objects for 3D printing.
Max 15 participants.

Wednesday, April 12

Creature Feature (2nd – 4th Graders)

Dive into KID Museum’s tools, materials, and machines to build motorized creatures of your own design, learning about circuits and motors along the way. Then produce a “Creature Feature” movie starring your creations.
Max 15 participants.

Mechanical Sculptures (5th – 7th Graders)

Create a mechanical sculpture—an automaton—out of wood. Use a drill, drill press, and other woodshop tools, and learn the mechanics of cams. Add an analog circuit (lights, sounds) to make your sculpture come alive.

Thursday, April 13

Freaky Flowers (2nd – 4th Graders)

This is no garden-variety camp. Learn circuitry and woodshop skills as you create wooden spin wheels, electric party flowers, chia pet sculptures, and bird feeders.
Max 15 participants.

Makey Makey Retro Controller (5th – 7th Graders)

Create a retro game controller using a Makey Makey, scroll saws, and conductive materials. Use your Makey Makey-powered game controller to play your favorite retro games.
Max 15 participants.

Makey Makey cannot be brought home, but may be purchased for $45 at the museum.
