KID Museum Celebrates Its First Birthday

One year ago, we opened a new kind of children’s museum, a creative space unlike any other in our community.

We envisioned a place that cultivates creativity and empowers kids to take on new challenges. We’d offer the guidance, the tools and the opportunity, and give kids the freedom to discover what inspires them.

KID Museum now is that place. In the past year, we’ve welcomed over 9,000 visitors for hands-on activities, special workshops, camps, after-school programs and field trips. We’ve been invited to the White House not once, but three times. We’ve hosted educators from places like Hungary and Mexico, Charlottesville and West Virginia, all looking to replicate what we’ve built. And we’ve been named Best New Creative Zone for Kids in Washingtonian Magazine’s Best of Washington.

KID MUSEUM’S FIRST YEAR IN NUMBERS:

9,000 visitors to the museum
